Wadi Shab is a popular day trip destination in Oman. It is a deep, narrow valley with a stream running through it, surrounded by cliffs and rocky walls. The wadi is known for its beautiful scenery and natural pools, which are fed by waterfalls.
To visit Wadi Shab, you can start by driving to the village of Tiwi, which is located about an hour’s drive from Muscat. From Tiwi, you can hire a local guide to take you on a boat ride through the wadi to the pools. The boat ride takes about 5 minutes and is followed by a hike through the wadi to the pools and waterfalls. The hike can be challenging, as it involves climbing over rocks and wading through the stream. However, the scenery and natural beauty of the wadi make it well worth the effort.
After you have explored the wadi and enjoyed the pools and waterfalls, you can return to Tiwi by boat and then drive back to Muscat. It is a good idea to bring plenty of water and snacks, as well as suitable clothing and footwear for the hike. You should also be prepared for the hot weather, as temperatures in Oman can be very high.
